CSA Week 15 Recipes
Our tomatillo crop has begun to produce in abundance so we were able to include a quart of mixed varieties. Tomatillos are related to ground cherries, another crop we love which has had a slow start this season, both of which are in the tomato plant family. Tomatillos are best when cooked into a salsa verde (recipe below), which works well with many foods, from quesadillos to chips to rice to chicken.
CSA Week 14 Recipes
This week’s recipes have abundance of diversity, and samples vegetables from a wide range of plant families such as Solanaceae- tomatoes, peppers, Cucurbitaceae- squash, Laminaceae- basil, oregano, Amaranthaceae- beets, sorrel, and more. By eating from a variety of plant families you’re able to consume a wide range of phytonutrients which are specific to each family.
CSA Week 13 Recipes
We have put together some great recipes from this weeks share. The cantaloupe sorbet is a wonderful cool treat for summer, and it doesn't have as much sugar as other deserts. The stir fry includes many of the vegetables from the share, and taste wonderful and fresh. We hope you are enjoying eating through the seasons with us us much as we are!
