2019 CSA Week 15 Recipes

This week we included tomatillos again. They’re the delicious cousin of tomatoes, and they have a tart citrusy flavor. They are used in salsa verde, which we included as a recipe this week on the blog. We included another simple dip on the blog this week- baba ganoush, which is a blend of roasted eggplant, lemon, garlic, and tahini. There are a lot of tasty fruits of summer in the bag this week. We also included heirloom tomatoes, which have the best texture and flavor of all the tomatoes we grow, but they are highly perishable, to be sure to give them room to breathe on your countertop and eat them quickly. Enjoy the share and have a wonderful week!

2019 CSA Week 14 Recipes

We’ve reached the halfway point! Thank you for participating in the first half of our CSA program, and we look forward to provide you with fresh, seasonal vegetables for the next few months. This week we included Thai hot chili peppers, which are small but firey- 23 times hotter than a jalapeno, so use sparingly.  We also included the cheery patty pan squash, which is delicious grilled, roasted, or sauteed. The green onion is a Japanese bunching onion which is a perennial harvested as a cut-and-come-again crop, and is delicious both raw and cooked. Let us know how you use your veggies and tag us @Front9farm!

2019 CSA Week 13 Recipes
Lots of great summer veggies in the bag this week. The weather is beautiful and as we enjoy this wonderful summer bounty we are thinking and preparing for fall and winter. The bags are filled with lots of great tomatoes and squash with more great stuff to come. Two more weeks until we reach the halfway point, and the second half of the season always has more variety than the first.
