2020 CSA Week 24 Recipes

Another bag of great produce for you this week! We were finally able to include some poblano peppers in the bag this week. I’m sure most of you know but poblanos have a mild heat and a nice smokey flavor. We used it in a stir-fry along with the eggplant and sweet peppers. Below is a recipe for a borscht soup, it’s a delicious hearty and healthy beet soup. If you haven’t made borscht before you should try it! 2020 CSA Week 23 Recipes

We appreciated the unseasonably warm few days we’ve had, though that has quickly changed now that it’s the end of the week. We hope you got a chance to get outside and enjoy the sunshine as much as we did. We’ve been busy preparing for the first significant frost of the season, so we’re covering any cold-intolerant plants we hope to keep producing for another few weeks. This week’s bag has a great mix of fresh flavors, including sorrel greens, which add a nice tanginess to soups or sauteed greens, and baby fennel, which has very flavorful, crisp fronds that work well in salads and soups. 2020 CSA Week 22 Recipes

The weeks are flying by as we comfortably descend into fall. We have been planning out the remaining weeks and we will have a nice variety of produce the rest of the way. We spend a lot of time harvesting this time of year. Make sure you follow us on social media to see our gardens, greenhouses, and also a lot of pictures of Annabelle. We really enjoyed all the recipes this week, and we hope you do, too! The hot pepper poppers this week make great tailgating snacks. We also made good use of the delicious and highly nutritious collard, Swiss chard, & mustard greens in a soup and pasta recipe. We hope you all are having a great week.
