First off, I would like to say 'hello' to our parents because they are probably the only ones reading this. Just kidding, Mom some of my friends might be reading this as well. There is a lot going on at the farm right now. Lots of seeding, thinning the seedlings, buying everything we need for the season, plowing, and on top of that we are getting ready to get our new dog, Hildi. I could probably write this whole post about how excited I am to get a dog, but Cassie would tell me that this first blog shouldn't be about the dog so I will try to stay focused.
For the past few weeks my main focus on the farm has been building us a website. I have a love-hate relationship when it comes to building websites. I hate doing it, and I love it when they are done. I would much rather be building things out of wood and metal than trying to get pictures to display correctly on the site. I have a long list of stuff that needs built, another chicken coop, a goat barn, fencing, and if I keep going on I might cry. For the last several weeks I haven’t been able to work on any of that, I have been inside working on the website.
The truth is I have loved working on our website, because building a great website means that we can convey to you how passionate we are about what we do here at Front 9 Farm. We care deeply about health and the quality of food. There are a lot of problems with the food system and we want to be part of the solution. We want you to eat healthy food that is locally grown and we want to provide that for you.
My hope for this blog is that we are able to keep you informed on what is going on around the farm. We want people to be connected to their food and the people who grow it, so we will try our best to write as often as possible. Thank you for reading this, goodbye for now, and thank you for the birthday card, Mom.
