This group of pigs grazed, rooted, and tilled over 3 acres of pasture from last summer to early spring. The pigs were fed non-gmo feed which was supplemented by foraged insects, roots, and weeds, as well as vegetable scraps and trimmings from our one acre of intensive vegetable production as well as local business scraps. We fit pigs into our farm model as cultivators of the land and composters, so when had 3 acres of land we wanted cleared and tilled, we brought in pigs.
We had the pigs processed at Keller Meats in Litchfield into a variety of cuts, sausages, and bacon products. We also have larger roasts and hams. Below are the cuts and prices we have available.
